PROPOSED WATER TURN OFF POLICY
The SWUA Board will consider a change to the water turn off policy at its next regularly scheduled meeting on March 21 at Sage Creek Church at 7 pm.
This policy relates to homeowner turn offs in the case of a leak on the homeowner's property. It does not pertain to leaks on SWUA property at the meter. Residents may attend the meeting to make comments or ask questions.
Proposed Policy:
The only personnel authorized to access shut off valves or meter pits are those acting on behalf of SWUA or the SWUA maintenance contractor. SWUA reserves the right to file criminal trespassing charges against any individual that access any part of the SWUA water distribution system, including shut off valves and meters, without authorization. Each account (household) is allowed one free courtesy shut off every 90 days for emergencies (for example, leaks).
IF YOU NEED TO HAVE WATER TURNED OFF DUE TO NON-EMERGENCY WORK IN YOUR HOME, YOU NEED TO CONTACT SAGE WATER IN ADVANCE TO SCHEDULE OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50.
